Jayson Vavrek comes from Canada, where he completed his B.Sc. Physics at the University of Alberta in 2014. There, most of his research focused on the ATLAS particle detector at the Large Hadron Collider. After a summer research project on detecting nuclear materials by their unshieldable neutrino emissions, he decided to join LNSP at MIT as an M.Sc. student in September 2014. He is now continuing with his Ph.D. working on warhead verifications. Aside from working on computational nuclear-physics simulations, he also enjoys volleyball and rock climbing.
