Jenifer Shafer is Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Colorado School of Mines. Her undergraduate research focused on the solid-state synthesis of f-block elements. In 2006, began graduate studies at Washington State University in the fundamental solution chemistry of the f-elements relevant to solid-liquid and liquid-liquid separations chemistry. At the Colorado School of Mines, she teaches the fundamental and applied aspects of nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry. She works with LNSP on radiochemistry topics, and in particular, on the detection of ultra-trace effluents from clandestine nuclear facilities.
