Rachel Connick is from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2016. Her undergraduate research focused on the development of radiation-resistant metal alloys, which is what introduced her to the world of radiation material science. She is now working on the development of a quantitative measurement of radiation damage and its applications in nuclear forensics. In her spare time, she enjoys doing Taekwondo competitively with the MIT TKD club.
